The ingredients needed to make Amla Ladoo:
Get 250 gm Amla (Indian Gooseberries)
Prepare 200 gm Sugar
Get 1/2 cup mix(Almond and Cashew )powder (coarsely grinded)
Get 2 tsp Ghee
Make ready 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
Take 1/2 tsp Nutmeg powder (optional)
Instructions to make Amla Ladoo:
Wash Amla in a strainer. In a pan/utensil, bring 2 cups of water to boil.
When water begins to boil, then only put the Amlas in the boiling water & switch off the flame and cover for 5-6 mins. Now Put Amlas in a strainer and when they become cold, slice them using knife and remove the seeds. Grind coarsely.
Heat a pan, add Amlas along with Sugar. Mix it well while stirring it continuously and cook them until sugar dissolves completely.
Cook further till the mixture becomes thick, add 2 tsp of ghee and cook it for 2-3 mins more. Turn off the flame and let it cool down slightly.
Tansfer it to a bowl and add almond/cashew powder, cardamom powder and nutmeg powder. Combine & mix everything well.
Once mixture cools down, start making ladoos by greasing the hand with little ghee. Amla ladoos are now ready! Store them in an airtight container.
