The ingredients needed to make Ashoka Halwa:
  1. Get 1 Cup Moong Dhal
  2. Prepare 1 Cup Wheat Flour
  3. Prepare 1 Cup Sugar
  4. Make ready 3/4 Cup Ghee
  5. Prepare Pinch Orange Food colour
  6. Take Cashew Badam & For Garnishing
Instructions to make Ashoka Halwa:
  1. Dry roast moongdhal in medium heat(do not make it brown colour) & keep it aside. pressure cook it until very soft. Use a Masher to make it smooth paste.
  2. Heat Ghee in a pan, add wheat flour fry it until a nice aroma comes out (wheat flour will become light brown). Add Moong dhal paste & sugar. Cook in medium flame & keep stirring.
  3. Add a little bit of food colour. Once it get done, ghee will get separate from halwa. Fry Cashew in 2 spoon ghee. Garnish halwa with cashew & badam. Serve hot.
  4. Note - If there is not enough water in moongdhal paste you can add it.
