  1. Wash and rinse lentil nicely (Masoor Dal) with cold water,
  2. Put in clay pot,add 4,5 cup water,then add Salt, red Chilli, turmeric
  3. Garlic cloves cut in slice and add in.
  4. Mix them and cover with clay lid,let simmer arround 15 to 20 minutes, dal should be soft but not mushy
  5. If dal is too thick you can add more water
  6. When daal almost done,add 1 cup of milk,it will give creamy texture add good flavour.
  7. Cook until the right consistency
  8. Heat oil or ghee in small saucepan, add onion fry until turning golden add 2 or 3 whole dried red chillies and cumin seeds
  9. Garnish daal with golden brown fried onion tarka and cilantro leaves.and sprinkle some garam masala.
