The ingredients needed to make Lobia Daal:
Take 1/2 Cup Lobia Daal
Make ready 4-5 tomatoes
Take 1 table spoon Ginger Paste
Prepare 2 Green Chillies
Take 1/2Table Spoon Mustard Oil
Prepare 1 Pinch Hing
Make ready 1 Tea Spoon Jeera
Make ready as required Some Dhaniya Leaves
Take Spices
Take 1/2 Tea Spoon Laal Mirch Powder
Make ready 1/2 Tea Spoon Haldi Powder
Make ready 2 Tea Spoon Dhaniya Powder
Prepare 1/2 Tea Spoon Kashmiri Laal Mirch Powder
Make ready 1/2 Tea Spoon Garam Masala
Steps to make Lobia Daal:
Wash Lobia Daal properly, them soak it in water for 6-8 hours or overnight.
Chop Green Chillies & Dhaniya Leaves very finely.
Grind Tomatoes finely into purée in a mixer grinder.
After 6-8 hours, drain out all the water from Lobia & then take a pressure cooker, add Daal in it with 1/2 Teaspoon Salt.
Now close the lid & give 1 whistle on medium flame.
After 1 whistle, turn off the flame & let the pressure cooker depressurise naturally.
Meanwhile, take a kadhai or pan, add 1/2 Big Spoon Mustard Oil in it & keep the gas on high flame to burn the oil first.
When smoke starts coming out of pan, turn off the flame & let the oil cool down a bit.
After some time, again turn on the gas & keep it on medium flame.
Then add 1 Teaspoon Jeera & 1 Pinch Hing in it & let them sizzle.
When they start sizzling, add sizzling, add finely chopped green chillies in it & roast them for 1-2 minutes.
After 1-2 minutes, add 1/2 Teaspoon Haldi Powder, 2 Teaspoon Dhaniya Powder, 1/2 Teaspoon Laal Mirch Powder & 1/2 Teaspoon Kashmiri Laal Mirch Powder in it & roast them for 2-3 minutes.
After 2-3 minutes, add finely grinded tomato purée in it with 1 Teaspoon Salt so that they start releasing oil quickly.
After 5-6 minutes, when oil is completely released, open the lid & transfer the boiled daal in it & mix them properly.
Now cook daal in Masala mixture for 4-5 minutes on low flame by adding some water in it.
After 4-5 minutes, add 1/2 Teaspoon Garam Masala, 1Tea Spoon Roasted Kasuri Methi & finely chopped dhaniya leaves in it & mix them properly.
Your Lobia Daal is ready to be served.
