The ingredients needed to make Ulava chaaru:
  1. Make ready Gooseberry size soaked tamarind
  2. Take 1 glass Ulavalu
  3. Get 1 onion
  4. Prepare Pinch ginger garlic paste
  5. Prepare 2 red chilli
  6. Take Pinch turmeric
  7. Take 1/2 table spoon mustard and cumin seeds
  8. Take 1/2 table spoon coriander powder
  9. Take 1/2 table spoon chili powder
  10. Make ready 3-4 curry leaves
Instructions to make Ulava chaaru:
  1. Soak tamarind
  2. Pressure Cook ulavalu
  3. Remove excess water into a bowl, add salt, turmeric, chili powder, onion, ginger garlic paste into it. Boil it. While boiling grind ulavalu and add it. Again boil it.
  4. Turn off the stove. Put tadka in small pan by using oil, cumin seeds, red chili and curry leaves, add the tadka into rasam. Add coriander leaves if required.
  5. Take it into a small bowl and serve hot with rice.
